Due to the corona-virus situation, it was voted in the March 16, 2020 Church Board meeting to discontinue all large group meetings. This affects Sabbath worship services, Sabbath School, weekly Bible study groups, Monday Community Dinner, Pathfinders, etc. A message from Pastor Osborne: A couple days ago I talked with a friend who lives in our area but works in another city, coming home on week-ends to be with his family and with his church family. While away at work he came in touch with someone who had the corona virus and subsequently was quarantined. He became very sick himself. Although he thinks he is getting better, one effect of this illness is long separation from his family and his church family. To a lesser degree we are all beginning to feel the separation this virus has caused us to experience with our church family. Since this pandemic has prompted the shutdown of public worship services and meetings, the Oregon Conference is conducting all committee meetings etc. on-line. Oregon Conference camp meeting this year will also be done online. Locally our churches are doing the same with Pastor Search Committee, School Board, and School. Our plan is to live-stream worship services beginning April 11. More details on that coming your way by phone tree. One important aspect of worship we miss during this time apart is bringing our tithes and offerings in person. It truly is an act of worship. During the month of March the Klamath Falls church received less than half the budgeted amount needed to carry on its ministry. Please consider doing your giving on-line or by mailing it to the church. Jesus of course knew there would be times of increasing uncertainty for His early disciples and for us. Before His crucifixion He spoke these words of warning, comfort and encouragement. These things I have spoken to you, that in Me you may have peace. In the world you will have tribulation; but be of good cheer, I have overcome the world.” God’s peace and courage.
